On June 22, 2006 Captain Wyche (currently 2nd Assistant Chief) arranged to have a team from GelTech® come to the Medford Fire Department to conduct a 'demonstration burn' showing the capabilities of FireIce®. I was the pump operator for the demonstration. FireIce® was added to one of our engines (5-14-13, a pump truck), and used to extinguish a car fire... Not only did the product perform very well, but the compatibility with our equipment was fantastic.
FireIce® was easy to mix and apply, and it did not harm or clog the pump system in the truck that was used. We look forward to the opportunity of using it in the near future.
